Chignecto Central Adult High School is able to offer students a choice of two diploma programs at 4 locations within the Chignecto- Central Regional School Board. We offer both the Nova Scotia High School Graduation Diploma and the Nova Scotia High School Graduation Diploma for Adults. Both are recognizable at all post secondary institutions
The Nova Scotia High School Graduation Diploma
- Minimum of 18 credits in total
- Minimum of 5 Grade 12 credits and a maximum of 7 Grade 10 credits
Compulsory credits:
- English 10, 11 & 12
- 1 Fine arts
- 2 Mathematics
- 2 Science (1 must be Science 10, Biology, Chemistry or Physics credit)
- 2 Other Mathematics/ Science or Technology
- 1 Physical Education
- 1 Global Studies
- 1 Canadian History
You must take 5 other elective credits
*If you are 19 years of age and have been out of school for at least one year you are eligible for the Adult Diploma described below.
The Nova Scotia High School Graduation Diploma for Adults
- Minimum of 12 credits in total
- Minimum of 5 Grade 12 credits and six Grade 11 & 12 electives
Compulsory credits:
- English 11 & 12
- 1 Mathematics
- 1 Chemistry/ Physics or Biology
- 1 Mathematics/ Science/ Technology or Social Science
- 1 Global Studies
You must take 6 other elective credits
